Day 8 August 31, 2023 9.5 Hours

From 8:00 AM – 5:10 PM I did a total 57 phone calls with courses in Palm Beach, Kansas City and Raleigh. A lot of the phone calls today resulted in no answers, where I would leave voicemail with the golf director or golf pro reintroducing myself, which organization I was with, and what the dates of the event were. I would also send the follow up email. The email goes “My name is Garett Reason-Kerkhoff, I am the new Course Scheduling Associate with Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Our tour has been in operation for 16 years and is the world’s largest junior golf tour with over 350 events annually. I reached out today but was unable to get a hold of you. Our tour is extremely interested in discussing a potential two-day event on (DATES). We work with many other facilities in your area and would love the opportunity to host an event with you all. We are very flexible, run an efficient operation on-site, and work around your tee sheet and club needs to ensure the event is a financial success for you. I would love to hear your thoughts on what we would be able to do to make this happen. Please give me a call when you can discuss it at (407) 614-2962 Ext-302. I look forward to hearing from you”. I did get one offer on the day with St. Lucie Trail Golf Club for the May 11-12 event in Palm Beach. From 5:10 – 5:40 PM we had one end of day meeting with the course scheduling team. The meeting went with discussing how we felt after this true first week, what we were comfortable with and what we need to improve on. Also, mentioned how the other two scheduling interns as well as Mike Malo my boss was off tomorrow. Meaning I would be the only one working, and they all had a four-day weekend.
