Day 23 September 29, 2023 9.5 Hours

From 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM I compiled my call list for the day and updated my information for organizations on Monday.com. Today is my last day of this internship and I felt like I have gained a little more knowledge on how to negotiate contracts with business venues. However, I am not going to lie and say that I am a little disappointed with the organization overall. They like to present all this opportunity for growth and experience within the internship experience. However, when you get into the daily operations it includes a lack of coordination at the top, a not pleasant human resources and a company that does not care about the interns just the numbers they provide. It is clear that they utilize interns as a way to keep operating expenses down and exploits the fact that they need college credit, where these days consist of 9 and a half hours. When presenting facets about school they do not seem to care and recognize the importance and basically treat every day like it is high stakes but do not like to help the interns excel within the class setting. I liked my boss Mike Malo though he seemed to be very insightful overall there were a couple of instances where he would push a little to hard for contacting courses, but I get the reasoning of trying to complete the schedule. Mike was very organized and always answered questions in a good time and provided guidance. I thought my relationship with him was better than Sara Even as time went on, she seemed to always push the interns to Human Resources and did not really want to deal with us. From 9:00 AM t0 5:00 PM I made more calls. I ended up getting another contract sent out for the July 6-7 event with the Cape Club of Palm City for $50 per person. It was a good way to end the internship with getting another contract sent out. Out of the 7 venue sites that I assigned I ended up getting 6 contracts sent out within two months which Mike seemed to be very impressed with. The only one that did not get a contract sent out was the last one assigned in Milwaukee that was given to me only over a week ago. From 5:00 – 5:30 PM I had a wrap of my internship with Mike where he said I did a good job within the role in the amount of time. He said he will write a letter of recommendation and asked if there were areas that he could improve. I said I liked his organization and his management style ultimately if he was higher up on the order of the company I could see working for him long term.
