This was the first day of starting to call courses within my assigned regions for the different events that we are trying to schedule. I ended up doing a total of 44 phone calls today. The regions of these calls included Palm Beach and Kansas City. The May 11-12 event is for the Palm Beach region. Of the 44 calls on the day 34 were in the Palm Beach region. The other 10 calls were for the region of Kansas City for June 29-30. After each call I would send one of two emails.

The first would be for if I was not able to connect with the director of golf or the person in charge of scheduling. The email goes “My name is Garett Reason-Kerkhoff, I am the new Course Scheduling Associate with Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Our tour has been in operation for 16 years and is the world’s largest junior golf tour with over 350 events annually. I reached out today but was unable to get a hold of you. Our tour is extremely interested in discussing a potential two-day event on (DATES). We work with many other facilities in your area and would love the opportunity to host an event with you all. We are very flexible, run an efficient operation on-site, and work around your tee sheet and club needs to ensure the event is a financial success for you. I would love to hear your thoughts on what we would be able to do to make this happen. Please give me a call when you can discuss it at (407) 614-2962 Ext-302. I look forward to hearing from you”.

If I was able to talk to the director of golf or the person in charge of scheduling the email would include more information. The email goes “Thank you for taking the time to speak with me about Hosting a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) event. The HJGT hosts over 350 events a year at premier venues in 28 states. Our goal is to partner with the best facilities in each region to offer our membership of over 8,000 unique junior golfers the best possible experience. We have been successful over the past 16 years in obtaining high end facilities due to 3 key factors:

1. Flexibility around your club needs. We work around your membership and/or public play.

2. Financial success. HJGT events are revenue generators for clubs, and we use strategic tee time blocks to ensure maximum revenue for our host venues. We pay premium prices.

3. We run one of the most professional junior tours in the country. We bring a staff of 3-6 individuals to each event to ensure efficiency and we ask very little out of our host venues.

We want to ensure an event with you is seamless and does not displace your membership or hinder your staff in any way. HJGT events create multiple revenue opportunities for our host clubs from tournament fees, practice rounds, spectator carts, food and beverage, future play opportunities, exposure through our extensive INTL. network, and pro shop purchases.

Here is some additional information that we discussed:

Dates:

Field Size: # of Players

Start Times:

Please let me know how we can work this out and I would love to send you over a contract to secure the event once you confirm the tee times and the rate per player per day. You can reach me at (407) 614-2962 Ext-302 or hjgtcoursescheduling@gmail.com. Have a great day!”. On this first day of calls no one was interested in discussing event details for one of the 2024 dates. I had a lot of no answers and being sent to voicemails. When I would be able to talk to people the directors would either say they cannot do outside events, there is new ownership so cannot give an answer, and send information in email to review. Was not able to get a single contract offer on this first day.
