Day 2 August 22, 2023 9.5 Hours

From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM I met with my immediate boss Mike Malo and my two other interns within the course scheduling team Sarah Thompson and Noah Hart for our first small team meeting. During this time, we reintroduced ourselves to the other interns. After the reintroductions we went into the expectations of the role, we were given our employee email accounts, and a script to follow when we are calling locations trying to secure a contract to work with the organization. We also went back over the history of Hurricane junior golf tour and retouched on some of the additional tools that were introduced to us yesterday. After we went over that we went through a thorough understanding of the software that the organization utilizes to store data and collect information. The tool used is Monday.com and it has all the data that has been collected from the previous years for golf courses. This information includes contact information like phone number and email, where the course is located, the current rankings and reviews of the course, and the size of the course. Additionally, there are previous comments added to the individual golf course tabs from past interactions. The criteria for a course to be selected is that the course must be over 6400 yards and have a rating of 4.0 or better. One of the review systems that is looked at is golfpass.com to see if there are multiple reviews and ratings of the course. From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM all interns went on lunch with the goal of continuing to build relationships to ease operations going forward. From 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM I was given 5 dates and regions that I had to look into and start prioritizing for when we get our phone systems up and running. My regions include, West Palm, Tampa, Miami, West Palm and Miami, and Kansas City. During this time, I was able to complete my organization of Kansas City and got three fourths of the way done with West Palm before it was time to go. Tomorrow will be a continuation of organizing these data sets for future usage.
