Went straight into calls today. I did a total of 60 calls today through continuously calling the same numbers. I have started to run out of call options for the course venues at this point. I ended up with a list of 25 venues for the day that I had to call multiple times to meet my call volume required of 60 calls. I ended up getting an offer from Eagle Ridge in North Carolina for the August 17-18 venue. Where we have an issue with the start because he wants it later in the day at 1 PM yet we are trying to start at 11 AM. A positive though with that offer is that they offered a price point of $25 which is half what we wanted to spend of $50. So, now I have to wait on Mike to decide on if he likes this time. Another offer I received today was through email with Plantation Preserve. This offer is for the June 19-20 event in Miami/West Palm Beach. The only issue is that the price point is $29 more than what we wanted to spend at $69 where we only want to spend $40. I also dealt with a lovely person named Rodger in the proshop of Winston Trials. Rodger tried to speak down to me because when I call to try to speak to the golf pro, the golf pro is not in, like I should know exactly where this person is even though I have not spoken to him before. It truly is great to be lectured for just trying to do a job that I have no control over. I told Rodger I just want to confirm that he was receiving my emails and he was very rude and almost belittled me. So, that was great way to end my week. It is sad I had such high expectations for this internship, and I feel like I am nothing more than a telemarketer. Where we hardly learn anything about sport operations besides making phone calls.
