Day 11 September 6, 2023 9.5 Hours

From 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM I went through voicemails and emails that were left after hours. A lot of the voicemails that are left for me are for a different department. As the phone before I was given it was in sales. So, a lot of the voicemails are people trying to get in touch with a previous intern that worked in sales. The emails that were left for me today were just more rejection responses to potentially hosting events. From 9:00 to 5:30 it was more calls with course venues, updating our Monday software with previous interactions with courses, as well as sending follow up emails. I had a total of 51 calls on the day. Trying to adhere to the one voicemail and one email per 7-day period rule. I did find one really good potential course venue for the June 19-20 event in Miami. It is a club called La Gorce that has not worked with Hurricane Junior Golf Tour before. We are currently in the process of negotiating and my boss came in to help. Their rack rate is $250, and we were looking to spend around $50 per player. They said since it is junior golf, they would do $100 and then Mike took over and countered with $75 and now we are waiting for a response. Since Mike took over, I am no longer able to negotiate. Which is unfortunate as I would love to have been CC’d so I could have learned more about the process between two businesses negotiating. I ended up calling a few course two to three times today as I am truly running out of potential options for events and at this point it truly seems like I am almost doing telemarketing.
